Hello, all! I wanted to let you know that my fiction workshops are starting up again in October. (CLICK HERE FOR AVAILABLE DAYS AND TIMES.) This is a safe and productive writing and critiquing environment where tales of the macabre and even Lovecraftian are most welcome (as are all other flavors of fiction).
“Sean Hoade’s Fiction Time Workshop has been an educational and rewarding experience. Sean’s expertise at both writing and workshop facilitation, together with superb classmates, have made it a treasure. Enthusiastically recommended.” — Sean I., Salt Lake City
This is an Iowa-Writer’s-Workshop–style graduate-level fiction workshop. It is being held in Las Vegas but anyone from anywhere can take part through live videoconferencing by Google Hangouts. The videoconferencing has turned out to be a HUGE hit with writers from across the country.
Hey there, guys and dolls! Sorry I’ve been so quiet lately, but I’m getting TWO — no, wait, THREE — book projects ready, so I haven’t had time to blog. I put a lot into writing these, OKAY?
- Cthulhu Attacks! Book 1: The Fear is coming along very nicely for Severed Press and should be ready to turn into them in the next few weeks.
- Zombie School Confidential, my nonfiction book on zombie lore and our cultural obsession with them, has a brilliant cover by Putnam Finch and brilliant editing by one Mrs. Ann Hoade. (Who is a professional editor, so 😛 on you.)
- My novel The Act needs only to be polished and this project, originally written 22 years ago, will be ready to go to press.
All of that is well and good, BUT what this blog entry is really about is this: I have gotten my own “Special Guest” graphic on the Salt Lake Comic Con website!
What with my sponsorship from my wonderful Patreon supporters; running two writing workshops, which are going great; and my association with Matt Wiseman and Shoggoth.net, I’m feeling almost partially legit these days!
Still living hand-to-mouth, but legit!
Lovers of a little shiver in their fiction should check out the new story on Shoggoth.net!
Nocturna the Scream Queen may have thought she had seen everything horrifying there was to see. She was wrong.
“Congratulations, boys and ghouls,” Lady Nocturna said, crossing her legs in a whisper of fishnets. “You’ve lived through another night of fright. Tune in next week for a double-trouble Wilfred Ghostman creature feature Friday. Immacula the Vampire Nun followed by Wasp People, both starring yours truly. Right here on Channel 12, Trinity Bay’s one and only. Join me for the fun … if you dare!”
